Consultation on International Human Rights Day at Samundri December 10,2007


"HUMAN RIGHTS IN PAKISTAN AND THE ROLE OF CIVIL SOCIETY "organized by SHADOW ORGANIZATIONPakistan has signed on the Human Rights Charter of the United NationsOrganization that is why it is essential for the government toreinstate fundamental Rights in Pakistan. Going through the history ofPakistan we see that all of the dictators have violated Human Rights.Civil Society and the lawyers have to be united to struggle for theHuman Rights in Pakistan so that there may be to development, justiceand prosperity in the Pakistani society. The speakers further saidthat there must be promotion of Human Rights and values.This was expressed by the speakers Mr. Rana Naveed Irshad Advocate,General Secretary Bar Council Samundri, Mian Shakil Advocate,Rev. Fr. Khalid Rashid Asi, Mr. Samuel Pervez, Mr. Muhammad Afzaal Khan Advocate, Mr. Mian Waqas ul Haq Advocate, Mr. Victor Sylvester, Mr. Ejaz Bhatti, Mr. Abdullah Ghazi Advocate, Mr. Muhammad Idrees Butt, Mr. Muhammad Irfan Advocate and Dr. Ghulam Rasool on the topic "HUMAN RIGHTS IN PAKISTAN AND THE ROLE OF CIVIL SOCIETY "organized by Social Harmony Awareness And Development Of Women (SHADOW ORGANIZATION) on the International Human Rights Day 2007. Professor Anjum James Paul, Director of SHADOW Organization thanked all the participants.
